Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR) Vaccination

The Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine helps protect against three infectious diseases: measles, mumps, and rubella.

Our qualified vaccinators can administer the MMR vaccine following a consultation to confirm eligibility.

Vaccination plays an important role in helping reduce the spread of these infections within the community.

MMR vaccine is free for everyone under the age of 18 and over 18 if the individual is eligible for funded health care in New Zealand. You are assumed immunised if there are 2 documented doses of MMR vaccine.

If you are unsure of your immunisation status, this can be checked at our pharmacy.

Who Should Consider the MMR Vaccine?
The MMR vaccine may be recommended for people who:

  • Have not previously received two doses of the MMR vaccine

  • Are unsure of their vaccination history

  • Are travelling overseas

  • Were born after 1969 and may not be fully vaccinated

Eligibility for funded vaccination is determined by Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora.

Our pharmacists can help check whether you may benefit from vaccination.

What to Expect During Your Vaccination
When receiving your MMR vaccination at Roberts Pharmacy:

  • A vaccinator will review your health information

  • The vaccine will be administered by injection

  • You may be asked to remain for a short observation period

Mild side effects such as soreness at the injection site or mild fever may occur in some people.
